Our Story
Baker Loving Integrative Services (B.L.I.S.) was born out of a shared vision and a decade-long partnership between Janelle McDonald and Dominique Loving. The seeds for B.L.I.S. were sown in 2012 when Janelle and Dominique met while working as behavior technicians at a therapy practice. During this time, they were at the forefront of providing 1:1 and group therapy, adaptive summer camps, and career training programs through the Department of Employment Services (DOES) to support inner city youth. Their hands-on experience and dedication to improving the lives of individuals with behavioral challenges laid the groundwork for their future collaboration.
Both Janelle and Dominique brought unique strengths and perspectives to their work. Dominique, with her background in organizational communication and her knack for operational excellence, complemented Janelle's expertise in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) and her holistic approach to therapy. Recognizing the impact they could make together, they decided to combine their skills and experiences to create an organization that would address the needs of their community in a more integrated and comprehensive way.
The formation of B.L.I.S. was driven by a commitment to providing high-quality, individualized therapy services and a desire to create a supportive, inclusive environment for clients, families, and professionals. By co-founding B.L.I.S., Dominique and Janelle aimed to build a practice that not only delivers exceptional therapeutic interventions but also invests in the development of individuals and the broader community.
Dominique Loving, a co-founder of B.L.I.S., began her career as a Behavior Therapist and Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) before transitioning into roles that leveraged her exceptional organizational, communication, administrative, and behavioral skills.
Dominique's journey saw her evolve from direct therapeutic roles to becoming an office manager and subsequently taking on leadership positions such as Clinic Director and Business Clinic Manager. These roles enabled her to drive operational excellence and organizational effectiveness in healthcare and business settings.
Dominique holds an M.A. in Organizational Communication from Bowie State University, specializing in Public Affairs, and an Early Intervention Certificate from Georgetown University. Her commitment to leadership and professional development is highlighted by her founding of Loving Business Solutions, LLC in August 2023, a consulting firm that supports small businesses in navigating administration, compliance, operations, recruiting, and marketing, thereby empowering them to achieve their strategic goals.
